Simmer Down at Sutra

I happened to be in downtown Phoenix last night near SUTRA Midtown Yoga and decided to stop in for a class. I had been to SUTRA before to chat with the owner Matthew about Spa Fit Finder. More than just a yoga studio, STURA is a hip little place, offering a super chill and relaxing atmosphere with art, beverages, snacks and a lounge area. SUTRA has also added their own flavor to yoga with Yoga Fusions and Bar/Ballet classes, which I am dying to try.

Tonight’s class was at 5:45, the perfect time to distress after a long 8 to 5. The yoga teacher Alexis welcomed me and checked me in. Alexis began the class with an inspiring story with a great message that was reiterated consistently throughout the class. Alexis emphasized that yoga is different every time you practice and for every person, which makes listening to your body and focusing on your individual practice so important. I have been doing yoga every week for some time now and each time I look for this message.

I have noticed major changes in my body and mind since I started practicing yoga more frequently. I feel more confident in my poses, my flexibility has increased and my practice takes me to a calm and euphoric place. Yoga has become a huge part of my life. If you don’t believe me on the benefits of yoga, I encourage you to try it for yourself. Visit SpaFitFinder.com to determine which type of yoga is best for you.

SUTRA frequently posts discounted classes on SpaFitFinder.com, so check us out find yoga deals at SUTRA!

If you’re staying in town this weekend, check out First Friday downtown on June 2nd and enjoy art, wine, appetizers and check out Shawn Anderson Unplugged at SUTRA. Party starts at 7pm. Visit Facebook for more details on First Friday.
