Delta In Skin
With SpaFitFinder.com officially launched and live, life has been more than crazy to say the least. So, in desperate need of a little R&R, I decided to treatment myself to a much needed facial at Delta In Skin.
I was running late and flustered when arrived at Delta In Skin in Paradise Valley but was quickly calmed by the relaxing music, candles, and aroma. The studio is awesome, Delta has unique art work on the walls, in fact the attached image is her signature.
Upon arrival, I wasn’t sure to the exact type of facial I wanted, but I knew it need to be relaxing, pampering and fabulous. Delta began by assessing my skin. She then advised me on my options and what she thought was best for my skin. We decided on the a one-hour cleaning facial with CO2.
Delta started by cleansing my skin and applying a few yummy masks. She followed that up with a few extractions. Then, after more detoxifying masks, she added a little bit of high frequency and some steam. She then applied the CO2, which was cold and tingly upon application, but well worth it as the C02 plumps and tightens the skin to reduce fine lines and improve skin’s appearance.
Thanks to Delta my skin is now glowing and fabulous. I highly recommend a Delta facial for stress-relief, pampering and great looking skin.

Ask an Esthetician
Spa Fit Finder would like to re-introduce you to our latest feature, Ask an Esthetician. Each Sunday Spa Fit Finder will release answers to some of YOUR top skin care questions to help you care for and understand your skin better. All you have to do is post a comment to our Ask an Esthetician blog with your skin care questions or email Sara@SpaFitFinder.com and we will post an answer to your questions the following Sunday.
Kara Pettis, a national and international trainer and certified massage therapist and esthetician brings with her many years of hands on training and experience in medical spas, day spas and wellness centers. She has been personally trained by Hungarian Masters in skin care technique and herb usage. Kara is passionate and takes pride in sharing her secrets for fantastic skin using natural skincare.
Question of the Week:
I don’t have a lot of money to spend on skin care, what less expensive items would you suggest? Also, while shopping for skin care products are there certain ingredients I should look for or avoid?
Always have the basics: cleanser, toner, moisturizer. If you really want to impact on improving on a certain skin condition, a concentrated serum is easy to sneak into your daily routine and can quickly improve the health of the skin.
While shopping, make sure to check the ingredient list on all products. I would reccomend staying away from the following ingredients:
Propylene Glycol
Parabens
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
Aluminum
Benzene
DEA (diethanolamine)
Thanks,
Kara

My New Love for Tattoos
I’ve never wanted a tattoo, based on the fact that I’ve never loved anything enough to put it on my body forever. However, when I met permanent makeup artist Adriana Campbell my thoughts on marking myself eternally altered.
Adriana owns and operates her own practice, Permanent Makeup By Adriana Campbell, located in Arcadia. Adriana offers permanent makeup services for lips, eyes and eyebrows.
As a first time ink-recipient, I decided to start slow with eyeliner. Upon arrival I was understandably nervous. I was calmed when I sat in Adriana’s chair and she put soothing music on, lit some candles and applied a topical numbing ointment.
When Adriana began procedure, I was shocked; it felt like she was tracing my eye with a coarse makeup brush. It didn’t hurt! After awhile, the area grew a little sore, but it was totally bearable. At the end of the two-hour procedure, Adriana cleaned off the ointment, rinsed my eyes with saline solution and provided me with aftercare instructions - no makeup for three days and apply aloe ointment throughout the first few days. That's it!
My eyelids were a little tender for the rest of the first day but defiantly made a difference. The liner is not overly noticeable, but it makes my eyes pop. The second day, my eyes were a little puffy, but, by the third, my eyes were healed and looking great.
I go in for a touch-up in a week. On the second application, we will make the liner thicker; this procedure will also help the liner last.
I would highly recommend permanent makeup by Adriana; it’s affordable, saves time and money and looks fabulous.
Permanent Makeup By Adriana Campbell is located on 44th and Camelback Road in Defons Salon. To schedule an appointment with Adriana call 602-881-7248.

Next Aesthetics SilkPeel Review
Silk and Diamonds? Yes… Please!
I was invited into Next Aesthetics by Maureen, the founder, for a SilkPeel® treatment. I was excited but didn’t know what to expect. I tend to stay away from peels. Like a lot of people I associate peels with burning, pain and downtime. Not this treatment, the SilkPeel® has ZERO down time, doesn’t hurt or burn and is actually really relaxing.
When I got to Next Aesthetics, Maureen took me back to her treatment room and got me all situated. She educated me on the SilkPeel® and assessed my skin. We decided to do a light treatment because I don’t have acne scars or tons of wrinkles. The SilkPeel® can help soften fine lines, even skin pigmentation, increase smoothness, reduce acne and blackheads, and soften mild acne scars. It is designed to exfoliate and withdrawal toxins while infusing your skin with vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants. The SilkPeel® machine is a closed-loop vacuum system, complete with a diamond treatment head. The treatment heads can be changed out based on the goal of the treatment; for extreme exfoliation or a deep treatment a more aggressive head will be used.
Maureen took the head of the machine and ran it over the surface of my skin. I felt a light wet suction sensation; it actually felt really good and was relaxing. When Maureen finished my face, she changed the machine head to a less aggressive attachment and treated around my eyes and lips. When Maureen was done with my lips she handed me a mirror, I was amazed my skin was glowing and my lips looked full and plump. I would highly recommend this treatment! Its been 2 days since my treatment and my skin still looks and feels amazing, I’m hooked!
Next Aesthetics is located in Scottsdale and Mesa. They also offers Botox and fillers, microderm and the HCG diet. To book your appointment or to inquire about prices, contact Maureen at 480.991.7639.

1 on 1 Boxing Fitness
In search of a break from my mundane elliptical/running cardio routine, I embarked on my first boxing training session at 1 on 1 Boxing Fitness.
I got to the gym a few minutes before my workout and found owner and founder Chris Terry already busy training other clients. When he was done, he called me into the gym area, wrapped my hands, started his stop watch and we got down to business. We started with jumping jacks, lunges, squats and mountain climbers to increase my heart rate. Quickly after that, Chris helped me into my boxing gloves and showed me how to stand and punch. I have never been coordinated, so thankfully Chris was very patient. In no time, I was “hooking" and "jabbing" the air. Chris is big on form, so he was constantly encouraging me to tuck my chin and pivot my back leg.
After I learned the basics, I was able to practice on the punching bag, now that was hard work. At first, I couldn't figure out how to hit the bag without making it move, which is the whole point, but towards the end, I got the hang of it. Tired yet? Well, we didn’t stop there. Next up, 1 on 1 Boxing Fitness. This was my favorite part of the workout. All of the form, balance, strength, posture and concentration began to make sense and I could really tell I was getting a great workout. After our boxing session, we did some abs work to strengthen my core and complete my first 1 on 1 boxing session.
I would highly recommend 1 on 1 Boxing Fitness to anyone who is looking for a fun and affordable workout. The gym is fairly new and it’s conveniently located on the Tempe/Mesa border. I plan on signing up this month for two workouts a week. I told Chris I want killer arms; let’s see if we can do it.
Visit 1on1boxingfitness.com for more details. Also, Chris's deals will be featured on Spa Fit Finder when we launch so stay tuned for that.
